Welcome Eric.
Still have my GTI 16V although she does not get out much.
Do have/use my '85 Golf that I Daily Drive.
Last summer the '85 sat for a bit when the in tank fuel pump died after only
25 years. Damn VW POS parts. LOL That was the first time in a long while
that my Golf
got a ride home from a flatbed tow truck.
Hard to believe that the 87 GTI 16V will qualify for Antique Tags here in
Pennsylvania next year.
It also will qualify to be entered into Antique Automobile Club of America
(AACA) events.
You should have seen the reaction when I started showing my '80 Rabbit at
AACA events.
No doubt I will tick off those same people when I start bringing my to
events.
Speaking of my '87 I had her out this week for a drive and for her last PA
State Safety Inspection before she becomes an antique.
The VW Tech at the family owned shop gave me S**T about the low mileage
since the last inspection like he usually does.
Cruising on the highway at 65++ mph and doing twisty roads reminded
me why I have the GTI 16V.
