I was moaning and groaning to a buddy of mine about my GTi exhaust issues, he brought up the fact that it's now a classic which in Jersey means: -Registration every 3 years and free renewal. -No emissions inspection ( he told me that, haven't confirmed it) -Couple hundred bucks yearly insurance, again, need to confirm that. -"QQ" prefixed plates. Besides being 25 years old, the car can't be modified or have added parts. The whole process can be done by mail and besides the title, they only want 2 pictures, front and driver's side profile. I guess they have some guy compare them to original pictures? If so, not sure if the black basket weave BBS rims will pass. Maybe. Were they ever available on a Golf or in '87. I doubt they'll notice that it's dropped 1 1/2"
