I am looking for a hardware based solution for capturing the video signal used to drive a projector. This is for conferences which for over 10 years have used good ol vga, typically 1024x768 and who knows what sort of laptop. I expect vga will be around for another 5 years but I am OK converting VGA to something else, like HDMI or SDI.
This device was recommended for SDI - I am wondering if anyone has any comments. http://www.blackmagic-design.com/products/decklink/models/ DeckLink SDI - $295 DeckLink SDI is perfect when you need an SDI only solution but demand high quality 10 bit 4:2:2 based SDI capture and playback. DeckLink SDI plugs into Windows, Mac OS X and Linux computers and features HD/SD-SDI capture and playback combined with tri-sync/black burst reference input and RS-422 deck control. Media Express software is included so you get capture and playback for AVI, QuickTime and DPX on Mac, Windows and Linux. DeckLink SDI is a perfect choice when all your connections are SDI and you don’t need analog connections. -- Carl K ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Live Security Virtual Conference Exclusive live event will cover all the ways today's security and threat landscape has changed and how IT managers can respond.
