It should be as follows: mount -t smb //keith/public /mnt/keith -o uid=Keith This must be typed as root. Alternatively, add this line to /etc/fstab: //keith/public /mnt/keith smb noauto,user 0 0 Then, as user keith, type "mount /mnt/keith" However, I'm still not sure why you are trying to mount a folder on your PC, which is shared by your own PC. > Secondly, I've made a small website for my Linux Customise magazine.
