I'm still having a gas using Linux, mostly Ubuntu Studio for making

talks on using Linux for music production. There are many topics I would
like to explore including: Muse Score, Audacity, Ardour, LMMS, Midi capture

This is exactly the kind of message that mlug was designed for.

How do we schedule a Linux music meeting? How many are interested?
Where can we hold it? Who has some experience with it?

How can we get low enough latency in the audio pipeline? I have a close
aquaintance who has struggled with this.

I anyone could show me how to simply record a solo or vocals on a backing track I'd be pretty happy (with low latency effects would be awesome). Audio recording/production is something I like doing, but just never understood the basics of. I have to use crap proprietary software to do it now (zoom microphone recorder thing). I've used Ubuntu Studio, JACK, Ardour, Audacity, etc.. just never long enough to learn much just poking around.

Oh and how to use my midi controller to get actual sound of it lol.
