For the Windows machine, yes. i.e. Server on Linux, Client on Windows7. However, that appears to be failing on the long-filename issue.

Manually copying over a database from the server to the client, and
subsequently doing a sync will not work because the machine ids will be
identical. If this is what you did, then at least an issue with the current
code is that it should detect this scenario as opposed to stalling...
Yes, that's what I've done. Well, I've tried both but there's clearly the risk of detritus lying around from previous attempts.

I think the next step is for me to set up a test account with a clean database with just a few test cards that is separate from my current live and untidy deck.
