I have a Galaxy SIII and am experiencing the same problem. After some looking it appears that it can't be mounted as a mass storage device unless I root it.
I can however export the cards to a folder on my desktop and then copy those manually onto my phone. That's not as slick as it used to be but it's not unworkable either. Hope you can get this fixed without breaking everything else!
