For the second question.

1. I do use the cloze card type.
2. Please add Latex support for that heuristic! I really really need it! (At 
worse, I will simply use an old version of mnemosyne)

the proof should be higher, and not lower?" No. I never see the next line of 
the proof. I always made sure that the only the statement is seen and no line 
of the proof.  By adding empty lines on top of the statement if needed.
The current problem I have with the new interface is that when I scroll down to 
see the lines where I am supposed to be at, I can't see the statement I am 
trying to prove because I have so little space to see the question in the 
interface.
