Thanks for your reply. I am on windows 10 as well. If I drag and drop an 
image onto desktop, it creates a copy of the file; I think earlier it used 
to move the file instead. However, if I were to drop the image onto an 
image editing program such as adobe fireworks, it does nothing.

While unintentional, this was a very useful feature and I would really 
appreciate if you could bring it back.
