What Richard says is all correct, but it's worth explicitly plugging
https://hg.cdn.mozilla.net/, which delivers bundles independently of hg.
You might have a better time downloading, applying the bundle, and then
pulling up-to-date changesets on top.

At the end of the day, the repository is about 1GB and requires a fast disk
to work with comfortably.
