Hello all, A while back there was a series of articles on mobile communication in Africa. Here is another article in that series. One of the interesting things here is the use of talk time as a way of transferring funds. In the last paragraph they note
"In Kenya it is possible to buy talk-time and send it to the phone of a relative, who then cashes it in at local stores. Where few have access to bank accounts, airtime is currency."
