i too was at that pavement/archer prewitt show at the Vic. It was fun. however i have burning hatred for the smashing pumpkins and i just want to point out that pavement did not "cover" 1979 in the classical sense of the word...the spoofed it. You see pavement seems to share this feeling about the smashing pumpkins with me. Let us all remember back to the crooked rain era and during Range Life when they say "out on tour, the smashing pumpkins, nature kids they dont have no function, i dont understand what they mean and i could really give a fuck". If you could miracously understand what pavement were singing at the vic through the bad acoustics you would hear mr.malkmus singing about how the smashing pumpkins are silly. Also, the very next song they played was "Billy" which they also proceeded to make fun of billy corgan in.
