Have any of you read the book of fight club? It's written by a graduate
of my college who lives in the town I grew up in, so I was exposed to it
pretty immediately after it came out--I read it in early '97. I went back
and read it again before the movie came out--you alls should read it if
you liked the movie--if you have read it, what do you think about the
ending being changed for the movie? Personally, I think the book ending
works for a book and the movie ending works for a movie. this is one of
the best adaptations I have ever seen--maintaining the spirit of the
original while also bringing something new to the material. I would've
liked to have seen the scene from the book where the narrator, after
discovering his secret, goes to a local fight club and fights every single
person there.
If you like it, you should also check out, Chuck Palahniuk's other books,
Survivor and Invisisble Monsters. "IM" falls a little short of par, I
think, But they're both worth your time. They were worth mine anyway.
Survivor is being made into a movie by Danny Boyle, who made
"Trainspotting".
Shalom!
