well, i am not sure what this abercombie is since i am pretty removed from
pop culture , but i was taken aback when i walked into a starbucks for the
first time in quite awhile and heard a vic chesnutt song playing. anyhow,
i think its a bit presumptious to assume that the"independant artist
automatically does not want to hear their music played by the masses. i
think a big distinction can be made between pandering yr music towards
commercial outlets and on the other hand , like the mouse, making the
music you want to make and having consu8mer culture accept it.

i'm glad the flaming lips jelly song becam popular and was played on MTV
and in Gaps. and i bet being on 90210 was fun for them.
