[HTML::Embperl] last and next with [$ while $]?

Is there a way to use last or next when using Embperl's built in loops and
blocks.

For example, I've tried something like this:

[$ while $i != 10 $]
 [- $i++; last if $i == 5 -]
[$ endwhile $]

(I know it's a dumb example)

But I get the following error:

Can't "last" outside block.
