I've been fooling around with the nextrieve engine for several sites I maintain, and I figured I'd give it a whirl on the mod_perl guide. Since the guide is a bunch of very large pages, this search also uses the split-up version that Randy's search has. Thanks to Randy for providing the script that does the splitting. I've put it up on a test location for people to pound on a bit. So far it has given decent results for everything posted to the list about the other search engine. Give it a whirl and lemme know what you think. The result page is just a template so can be spruced up and have logos and such attached quite easily. http://thingy.kcilink.com/cgi-bin/modperlguide.cgi The only issues it has is with searching for terms like $[ and $/ but works well for most other queries. Please note that this is a temporary location for this resource. Should we decide that this will be the "official" search engine, it will get a permanent home. -- =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Vivek Khera, Ph.D. Khera Communications, Inc.
