The underlying library does not support Windows: http://www.ossp.org/pkg/lib/mm/ It was built by Ralf Engelschall to allow sharing between processes on unix, for use in Apache HTTPD 1.x. Since Windows uses threads instead, it doesn't need this. You should be able to use the perl threads sharing mechanism to do the same thing. - Perrin
