david steel is a mod? i always thought that david owen was a goth,
still......

...anyway, stan smiths were favoured (in the NW anyway) around 1992, the
same time as converse one-stars and shell-toes. trainers seems to have died
a death which is a shame, as that means that we're all back to desert boots,
desert boots, loafers and desert boots.

go and buy a pair. the acid jazz revival starts here.

p.s. check out the retro etnies, if they're still being made... similar to
smiths but a bit more detail.

Subject: Stan Smith trainers

lace-ups rather than the velco ones) - 39.99.

and black suede Adidas Campus in the past), white leather Adidas Campus that
I got a couple of years back. I'm a bit suspect of trainers, more the domain
of townies, students and Indie kids. However, these Stan Smith ones seem
OK - plain but smart, and would make a nice variation to desert boots or
bowling shoes with jeans/cords.
