Yeah, that's me, Mr. Sincerity. People sporting
two-foot mohawks and enormous parka-back patches are
generally the kids who are in it for the short haul.
The ones who just want people to notice, "Hey. They're
-different-." It's pretty easy to put on a suit and a
parka and say, "I'm a mod." That doesn't make it
necessarily so. Eventually, they'll get bored and
either move onto something else or just grow out of it
entirely. To me, that
I'm not saying that change is bad, or that going
through phases is bad...I have spells where I listen
almost exculsively to jazz, or to soul, or to garage,
or to blues and r&b...
I wouldn't be surprised if there were a whole bunch of
people at UIUC who consider themselves mod, even
though they don't wear parkas. God knows I haven't
donned mine in a dog's age. And I only had it for cold
weather. And I merely had a small Piaggio patch on the
shoulder... just so people wouldn't think I was a
veteran or something.
