I must admit I don't like Blur - I think they're music is a bit too toytown trumpton, plus when you start hearing your work colleagues telling you that they like them......you know there's gotta be something wrong with the band....
On wearing t.shirts with a suit....it might work down some trendy bar in town but doesn't scream "Mod" now does it ?! - I like plain t.shirts with denim peddlepushers in the day - as for Belle and Sebastian t.shirts...come on - not ultra chic is it ? - Mind you I'll admit I've got a studded "Let it Rock" t.shirt which always amuses my boss. As for female singers...well depends what you're looking for...I've just been looking at the girl groups website which features all the ladies from Motown and other labels etc. etc. Dusty's o.k. BUT please don't mention Lulu - that woman should have been exterminated at birth ! P.S. - America - a nice place to visit...BUT you wouldn't wanna live there now would ya ! ( Just kidding ! ). God Bless you! USA USA USA!!! A T Shirt is never OK in the evening - regardless of the name or brand - (especially under your shirt - can you imagine dancing and then a flourescent light shows BLUR written all over your chest?). I like a John Smedley polo during the day with a pair of cords though. BB Mak - I never thought I'd hear their name on a Mod list? What have they got to do with anything - you might as well have compared Blur with Tiffany. I don't hate Blur - but they're not Mod by any stretch of the imagination that's all. As for Pulp their new album is absolutely amazingly good! The first outside project that Scott Walker has ever produced too! The trees, those useless trees, produce the air that I am breathing.... Have a banana! ABB -----Original Message----- From: Sara Jones [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: 19 October 2001 14:50 To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Blur's artiness Hey Everybody, What's up? How come many of the mods in the UK hate Blur? I think they have a good sound, personally. I mean, compared with like BBMak or Pulp or something, they're good. But I guess its in your own personal taste. Andy, why do you like making fun of Americans so much? We're not all that bad, actually. I'm from NY and I knew you were being sarcastic. As for the question about why its so bad to wear a Blur T shirt with your mod clothes, just wear it under the regular shirt you have on or something. Or what about wearing a Jam T shirt with your clothes, etc, etc? Would that be considered bad too? A general ques. for you all: What are some good female R&B singers/bands to get into? I know Dusty, Sandy Shaw, Lulu, etc, but is there anyone else, and if so can you advise me what would be the best albums to get by them?
