Thanks for all your help. Whats all this stop fussing business? Can't a man
be concerned that when he buys footwear he's making the right decision? Its
not something to be taken lightly.

Thanks again

- It sounds like you need a new pair of loafers. The pro would be that
you can wear leather loafers at both formal and informal functions.
There are no cons (except for ten inches of Swedish snow in the morning
of course...) But dont listen to me, I always wear loafers. And I very
rarely wear oxfords or brogues/wingtips. The problem with brogues (in
contrast to loafers) is that they place themselves uncomfortably
inbetween formal and informal (especially nowadays).
The classic Prada or Gucci loafer is pretty swell. Getting a pair made
might be an option. The most recent pair I got was some Paraboot ones (a
good old French brand as the name so obviously implies...): chisel toe,
black leather (though maybe the leather was a bit too soft for my
taste), very low and leather-soled. If in the general vicinty of Paris
those would only set you back about 200 quid. And theyre available in
brown (still kicking myself for not picking up a pair of the brown/tan
ones)

As for pointy shoes... I dont know. I thought "we" had somehow moved
away from that criteria. And they make such nasty wounds to... be a
pacifist- wear non-pointy loafers.

Calm down big fella; nobody's bringin' you down. I've never been called a
'shitstick elitist for recommending cheap shoes, but hell, to each is own...
or something.

I wasn't in the mood to be patronized. I had a 'falling down' kinda day, ya
know the kind of day where everybody fucks with you, no matter where you go,
for no reason? I punched somebody for the first time in years yesterday for
spitting on my car and calling me 'faggot'. It was weird, I never even made
eye contact with the guy, let alone provoke him. However, I'd be a goddamn
liar if I said sticking him one square in the jaw didn't feel really good.
And i STILL need dancing shoes. So, word up then. It's Saturday night &
feeling alright. Back to pacifism, over & out.

Just heard on the news that we've lost Stax legend Rufus Thomas at the
age of 84. What can you say about the man that hasn't been said before?
He recorded some great records for the Stax label "Jump Back", "Do The
Dog", "Walkin' The Dog", "Memphis Train", " Funky Chicken", and "Little
Sally Walker" just to name a few. He was also a radio personality who
was still going strong the last I heard. A sad loss, but he lived a long
life and leaves a long legacy behind.
