hmmm, if you frequent the sticky floor clubs , then
rubber soles are not for you. You'd be dancing but
your feet would be stuck to the floor!! Would really
need to know what kind of clothes you'd be wearing to
get a rough idea of styles, (the fact that I'm a nosey
cow has nothing to do with it!!)

Look, lets not get so fussy. Mens leather shoes. Pointed toes, wooden soles.
under 300 bucks. Any suggestions?

Hope I'm not being presumptuous, but I think this might be of interest
to people:

*Sex Drives: Fantasies of Fascism in Literary Modernism*--New Book from
Cornell University Press

In this exciting new book, Laura Frost advances a compelling reading of
works by D. H. Lawrence, Virginia Woolf, Jean Genet, Georges Bataille,
Marguerite Duras, and Sylvia Plath, paying special attention to
undercurrents of enthrallment with tyrants, uniforms, and domination.
She argues that the first generation of writers raised within
psychoanalytic discourse found in fascism the libidinal unconscious
through which to fantasize acts--including sadomasochism and
homosexuality--not permitted in a democratic conception of sexuality
without power relations. By delineating democracy's investment in a
sexually transgressive fascism, an investment that persists to this day,
Frost demonstrates how politics enters into fantasy. This provocative
and closely-argued book offers both a fresh contribution to modernist
literature and a theorization of fantasy.

You know who makes some groovy foot covers? There's a Canadian designer named John
Fluevog and he makes sort of more stylish Doc Marten types. He's got some great
designs and they're very comfortable and durable. Also, one can usually find a number
fo them on ebay at relatively decent prices. I've owned many pairs of these and
they've never let me down.

If you're not fussy, just get a pair of half-way presentable bowling shoes,
shine them, and stop fussing so much. $100 tops.

Wow! Thanks you sooo much Thaddeus. However, I think you have confused me
with somebody else. Perhaps a wet noodle to be your cheap shot whipping boy
for scenester elitism. I had a simple question, not to be used for some
self-serving scene brat. I'm nobodys ego catalyst shitstick, so shut up or
step up.
(sorry list...i've been dealing with assholes all week)
