Hey Christophe,
Thanks... but unless the Baltic Room cloned it, I believe M.N.O. is at Habana's in
Pioneer Square on Saturday nights. Doesn't the Baltic have a Brit Pop night on
Sundays or Wednesdays or something? I'm looking for something else to do in the
Northwest because hardly anyone shows up at M.N.O.... as you say, Seattle's an indie
town. I heard that Vancouver has a lot more to do.
And yeah, I'm over 21. 'Fraid I can't be more specific than that.
Thanks,
Samantha

Ya know, for the past few years I'll meet an occational 'new' girl who comes
to check out the mod spins in our town. They always wear something like a
black turtleneck, cuffed denims, and brand new New Balance sneakers. They
dance to the really obvious white guy mod hits and clear the floor for
anything funky and or done by black musicians. Then they usually have the
nerve to 'advise' me aon what bands I should really 'check out'. They'll
mention some indie rock bands who sort of dress 'mod ish', but play, well,
indie rock. Somewhere along the line I'll here terms like 'totally french
new wave' and other nonsense etc....Then when they learn the few people
that are there just love good music and aren't concerned with 'whos who' in
whatever indie scenes....they never return.... There seems to be more and
more of this happening, who or what is responsible for this growing
phenomenom is beyond me.

Where exactly is your town, O Steven Hawley, True Cadet? I'll be sure to avoid it so
that I will not offend your superior sense of hipness with my new girl pseudo-mod
stylings.

New Balance are mod? Hell, if Adidas, Nike and track suits are mod,
then why not? How about sweatbands? I swear I heard of some target
sweatbands one time.
Question: If you put a target on something, is it instantly mod?

Oye Pablo,
You have indeed talked... but what the hell are you talking about?
FYI, "Strength and honor" is a line from the movie "Gladiator"-- it's not a homegrown
American expression. I'm sure that in America there are a lot of freaks, just like
anywhere else. At least we have a sense of humor about it. And I'll talk about
anything I want, thanks.
Strength, Honor, Peace, whatever,
Samantha

Yes Samantha, go for Pablo; it's long distance and all, but you know about
those Spanish men... Antonio Banderas, ect.: SEXY! As for indie girls
though, I think you fellas are being a bit rough; they're great. Hot for mod
boys, always, and it turns them on to talk about music you've never heard of
or care to hear. Just smile and nod and you're in. Well, I'm off to the mall
again. Got my target t-shirt and the very best fake English accent; gonna
bag another teenage indie rocker; look out! Thads about!
(of course I'm being a jackass)

ladylike and doesn't go well with a shift dress and mac!!....maybe I'm just an old

Pablo,
You are one crazy chico. Pero, el hombre no es interesante quien no es loco. You
think English is crazy? Try Latin, where Spanish comes from. What the hell is up
with all those declensions?
Mr. Monarchy... your Humbert Humbert vibes give me the willies. But you're not the
only one that doesn't mind trolling for indies.
Hasta tarde a todos,
Samantha

Cool your jets, Andy!
As for an English accent being sexy, most American chicks are turned on by accents of
all stripes.... even if the guy's not all that good-looking. How else to explain the
movie stardom of Hugh Grant? Though I'll admit Britain has compensated by sending us
Jude Law. Mmmmm.

And most of us already picked those things up during the first viewing
of Armageddon... (except for the panflutes and Enya)
For those anal about literature there where also a few inconsistencies
in there (not that Id publicly admit... oh, never mind) One of them was
Liv Tyler (although she had pointy ears which can never be bad)
May your shadows never grow bulkier
