Actually I have several servers on Sparc Solaris 2.7 (without php) configured with
--enable-shared=max and don't get any coredumps. The only time I did run into
trouble was when compiling on a machine with gcc 2.95.2 and moving it to a machine
that had 2.95.1 - but not anything that couldn't be fixed with a symlink ;-)
