Please, can we stay focused in this thread on the generic problem that I'm trying to solve? I've used mod_perl as an example, since I have the current need in that domain, but the problem is absolutely generic. By turning this thread into a mod_perl-specific discussion, you turn away people who aren't interested in mod_perl but could have a useful input on the problem in question. Thank you for your understanding.
