That's because CPAN is module-centric and despite the heroic attempts of me and some others it has been proven impossible to get a concensus on how to write Perl applications (Real Applications, not semi-trivial scripts) and put them on CPAN. As a result, Real Perl Applications live their own, individual, cold and lonely lives instead of being welcome in the warmth of the Perl community. -- Johan
