rationale:
MP3::Mplib is an object-oriented wrapper around the mplib
(http://mplib.sourceforge.net/) written in XS. It can be used with a
functional interface similar to that of MP3::Info or a native
object-oriented interface. It also comes with a compatibility-layer
for MP3::Tag that should make changing to MP3::Mplib easy. Same
thing is planned for MP3::Info.
Basically this module fills a niche insofar as there is no mp3-tag
library yet written in C on CPAN. Benchmarks have shown that it's 5
to 6 times quicker than MP3::Info readwise. Similar figures should
be expected for write-access.
