I used to go to watch at Gurston when I was a student in Salisbury in the 60's and early 70's. There, and Curborough. It was a great thrill when I actually got to take part in hillclimbs at Gurston a few years back. It is an excellent organising club too.

Spectating is much better at Gurston, in that there are some places where you can see a great deal of the course, unlike Wiscombe, where the views are much more restricted. Wiscombe is tight and twisty through the trees, Gurston is a power hill, with a downhill start. The fast boys are doing truly silly speeds through the sweeping left hander, (Ashes, IIRC), knowing that the Karousel will wipe all their speed off before Deer's Leap. I did both hills many times in my motorcycle hill climb days, though I've not done them in a car.
