No, as I understand it VW originally took over Bentley/RR, but by some quirk
known only to the lawyers BMW had got hold of the brand name, and VW were
able to keep it for only a few years Thus during their control of both
brands VW put Bentley to the fore (previously only 7% of the output had that
badge).

 

The factory just near Goodwood is 100% BMW - and if you need to leave yours
there for service you have a top of the range BM as a loan car - and will
note a strange familiarity with the controls & switches - they are shared.  

 

The VW 'Bentley' is - in my opinion a delight to the eye - the BMW RR is an
offence!

Should have been a Bentley not a RR, but it is all down to branding and
money.
