Wet suit works only when wet yes, but mine at least does keep out most wind.
It was summer, absolutely tipping down, I hadn't got that far to go, was
soaking wet anyway, and given I could park the Mog under a tree, rain was
not forecast for the next day and a nice warm shower beckoned, no contest
really.

The Barnstormer is the answer really, but to appreciate it, you do have to
be dry on the inside...

And for anyone who looked it up, and thinks "gosh that's expensive", yes it
is, but it is genuinely water-proof, unlike a flying jacket which
comparatively is made from blotting paper...

As I am sure you are aware a wet suit only works when it is wet , it does
not keep out wind , so it would be the most unsuitable clothing for driving
Morgans (or any other open car). I am sure that the Aeroleather Barnstormer
is preferable in every respect.

I'll cough to having driven the 4/4 in a wetsuit.

I'd spent the day teaching kids how to canoe and as it was dry in the
morning, had arrived sans hood. By home time it was heaving with rain and
staying in the wetsuit seemed to be the sensible option even if it looked a
touch odd.

As far as practical normal clothing is concerned, I now favour my
Aeroleather Barnstormer. Waterproof leather - the ideal for Morganing in all
weathers.

No special clothing?

Ahhh, hopefully things will dry a little then, so I can leave the wetsuit at
home? :o))

As posted - do it. It's fun.

This is a MSCC organised trial, so the course is laid out with Morgans in
mind. The only partial excuse would be tyres close to legal minimum, but in
that case, get new tyres as you need them anyway and do it!

Other than getting your car muddy, it's one of the least damaging forms of
motorsport and one of the few that requires no special clothing. That along
with the free entry for newbies means all you need to find is the dosh for a
day's petrol.

Come on Roy,

Don't be a wimp, your car will be set up okay as it is. Free entry for you.
Nothing to loose if you don't fancy doing anymore once you've started you
could always resign gracefully. You know it makes sense.

A new exhaust should arrive today from Librands, but I still need to track
down and fit a new engine mounting bkt. I'm waiting on two dealers to get
back to me on that.

Anyone got a spare one that I can replace for a 2000 zetec if I don't track
one down by Saturday.

Roger,

We will be able to meet face to face at the Midland CT as I am attending, I
had thought

of competing but have since decided that I need to look closer at what is
required so

that my car is in the best condition to compete, so it is only my
performance at test not

the car causing problems ie. ground clearance etc. May possibly be with
another

Norcemog member who is thinking of competing in future.

I've got it down on my list of thing to do before I'm ..?

Roy.

Yes I am Graham, with another FolkMog member. Thought it was about time we
had a go.

Try BHM John. They fit quite a lot of Librands pipes and they may have the
standard pipes they replace available.

See you on Sunday

Roger
