Thanks Mike, I'll take a look with more idea of what to look for now. You have "rung a bell" so to speak. I bought the car from Life's Motors and I now seem to recall being told about the new cars having their wing top lights wired after delivery because they had to leave the factory with headlight/sidelight in an integral housing ( I took this to mean the pilot and main in the headlamp unit). At the time I was so focussed on taking delivery of my first Mog in just a few minutes that the information rather passed over me; maybe this is it coming back?

I haven't bothered to try and open it up, I just removed it and rewired for pilot lights. There is no provision for a fixing point so it tends to hang in the air under the dash, secured to the harness for support. I guess it could be secured to the inside of the bulkhead with double sided tape. Just thinking about your pilot lights in the headlamps, there was a time when the wing top lamps were fitted but not connected. I guess it is possible that someone switched the connections, disconnecting the pilot bulbs, and connecting in the wing mounted lamps (position lights ?). The lighting wiring is normally under the front wing, a bunch of bullet connectors nicely placed to collect water and road dirt. Although if you do have dim/dip you wouldn't have needed pilot bulbs operational. Good luck with the search Mike Smith ------------------------------------------- View posts on The Mail Archive http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ [http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/] Modify Your Subscription: https://www.listbox.com/member/?member_id=22459785&id_secret=22459785-4a39ddf8 Powered by Listbox: http://www.listbox.com
