Beware of lack of use, my cvh had to have a strip down and rebuild at about 40k due to the failure of a piston ring, which had left a sticky residue in the cylinder bore due to lack of use in the hands of its previous owners. When I started to use it with some gusto, the ring failed presumably having to negotiate the sludgy mess on the excursion of piston

dont leave it in the garage, get out and give it a run

Mine was well knackered at 83,000, but it hadn't been very well looked after for the first 50k. Usual CVH problems of black sludge, excessive bore wear and knackered cams.

Yet again my old 4/4 has fired up ready for another season of jaunts and jollity. 107000 miles and 29 years old and still going like a train, not having lost any of it`s get up and go since I bought it 10 years ago. It now occurs to me, just how long is the engine life on a CVH 1600. Would be interesting to know what is the highest mileage that has been achieved in a Morgan installation without major overhaul.
Any record breakers out there ?
Ron.
