I have installed mon and understood the basics but am having a problem
configuring some things that i am hoping someone here would help me
with.

I want to use mon to grab SNMP values by polling and mail/page errors
upon the results.

I have been trying to get the netsnmp.diskspace.monitor to work but I
have been having to luck. From the command line I can run it and it
ouputs correctly. But when I insert it into the mon.cf it shows up in
monshow as "untested 0s" i don't get it. Why isn't it working?

Also since I am just starting, I am willing to suggestions. Here is what
I am looking todo with mon. Not really sure what monitors will be needed
but need to get this done.

Check 22(ssh) accessable
Check 80(http) accessable
Check 8080(tomcat) accessable
now snmp monitors:
I have configured snmpd.conf on each host to output the correct
processes that need to be running, what its diskfree %'s are.
SNMP:
diskfree
memory
load
process in prEntry table are there and have no errors.

also need to monitor
nfs (working or stale)
cachefs (disconnectable, working, not working)
need to see if (on certain boxes) that database backups are being done
nightly and are available on the box

Thats mostly it.
I would rather not reinvent the wheel, so could some of you help me out
here?

Thanks
