Thanks Gilles,

you'll have to pardon my newbie-ness but despite my efforts to find more info about 
dbmon on the web, I'm still not clear what exactly it does differently from mon.. 

Is there any documentation besides whats on the link you passed which gives a clearer 
picture of "features" and what dbmon does that mon doesn't?
