The other nice thing about this is that it's perfectly
reversible, even for 'binary' files.

On a slightly different note, perhaps it would be best
for monotone to store the literal version and only transform
for the purposes of diffing or checksumming/sigs.

At least the fidelity would be there.
I imagine this would have major implications for other parts
of monotone though.
