All free software projects benefit from trustworthy-looking websites.
I've guided the upgrade of gnu.org and other FOSS websites, I see no reason not

Would you like to extend your team with a volunteer HTML5 webmaster?🙂
Very much so, I agree the website looks (and, really, is) abandoned and
any help in that regard is welcome!
The website is currently hosted in a FreeBSD jail and versioned in the
monotone branch: net.venge.monotone.web.mainsite
It currently runs on PHP 5.6 (it's a very old and "historical" FreeBSD
jail) and I think the best approach would be to target PHP 8.4 (or a
full rewrite in a different language if you prefer to do so), create a
new updated jail, map that to a test domain and check it out a bit.
I can find some way to automatically update the test deploy on push, or
at least in a cron.
Are you okay with creating a net.venge.monotone.web.mainsite.2026 branch
(or similar) for testing purposes, which we can then merge when we go
official with the new website?
Thanks for the offer!
(and of course, if anybody has anything to say regarding this, please do
so! I don't assume I can talk for the team)
