Space Cowboys and Vampire Slayers rule at THE BEST DAMN JOSS WHEDON
DOUBLE FEATURE EVER! Find out why cult TV shows never die during
this crazed celebration of producer Joss Whedon’s beloved Firefly and
Buffy the Vampire Slayer. First up is a special screening of the
2005 feature film, SERENTIY (based on Whedon’s sci-fi western series
Firefly), presented by The Arizona Browncoats, with proceeds
benefitting Equality Now!, an international women’s rights
organization dedicated to ending violence and discrimination against
women and girls. The film begins at 7:00 p.m.
Next up, starting at 10:00 p.m., is Tucson’s first-ever BUFFY THE
VAMPIRE SLAYER SING-ALONG, a unique opportunity to watch two of
Whedon’s classic Buffy episodes (“Hush” and “Once More with Feeling”)
on the big screen, and to sing along with the Scooby Gang as they
rock out while battling nasty demons from hell (the words are on the
screen)! Buffy-related goodies and interactive activities will round
out this Slayer Sing Along, so pop in your plastic teeth and get your
vocal chords ready ... it’s showtime!
