This sounds like a great idea for jib and genoa sheet stowage on the
windward side.  I've contemplated permanent attachment points for canvas
bags, but I like the idea of not drilling holes.  I'll look at this....

I found some bags made out of a coated net material with suction cups
that hold quite well on the cockpit backrest.  I stick my GPS in there.

I used the teak binocular holder - WEST item No. 126294 (4
drink/binocular holder) page 373.  

I cut it so that it was narrower on the bottom than at the top in order
to give the main sheet a bit of clearance.

It has worked fine - no design changes needed
