I'd just like to say I tow my M15 with a .... are you ready? Saturn SL2 (Standard transmission -- wouldn't buy a car with automatic -- I'm too CHEAP! (also too into the power trip one gets with a Standard))
In Europe they tow great big loads with little bitty cars -- what, are we Americans: wimps? In Europe also, 95% of cars are "Standard" transmission. But if you have a great big truck to pull a little M15 then yes, an automatic would probably be ok.. Personally, I would ALWAYS opt for the control one gets with a Standard -- all you standard drivers out there know what I mean.
