When I rebuilt my trailer (not a Trailrite) I just used 
treated 2x4s with good indoor-outdoor carpeting tacked 
on, and just let them settle into their shape with the 
weight of the boat.  (They  bend right away.)

Seems to be working fine so far. (only 1 season--about a 
half dozen launches)
