Tom,
I varnished my boarding platform, but used a regular spar
varnish, nothing exotic. Two years hence it has started to flake off. Did
you use any sort of preparation prior to varnishing to reduce the residual oil,
or does Le Tonkinois require any preparation before application?

I finally tired of oiling my external teak. It
had to be done frequently and I really didn't think it was protecting the
wood.
I cleaned all the oil and crud off the teak and
decided to varnish it. I decided to use Le Tonkinois varnish because of the
claimed ease of use. It was easy to apply and looks good. It does not change
the color of the wood. I guess now the test is its durability.
Does anyone else have experience with Le
Tonkinois?
