I can't speak to Le Tonkinois, but I share your frustration/disappointment with teak oil. I used a UV-resistant Interlux varnish in 2001 and I'm ready for a touch-up, but I only applied two coats. I don't want to pull out the sandpaper and brushes again, but given that I didn't apply the number of coats I should have in the first place, the Interlux has probably performed exceptionally well.
