Hi Larry,
I've used members of SAMS a couple of times - once in the Seattle area and a 
second time in Florida. Both times were arranged, first over the internet and 
and then later by phone & Fax.
What I did was Email a few in the respective area and ask if they had 
experience in the boat I was interested in and ask about survey costs and travel 
costs if any involved. 
Their main web site is   http://www.marinesurvey.org/ 
It's a good site to keep on the list of places needed someday.
