Please differentiate between the M17 slide up rudder and older very
fixed type, mc.  Don't know when the change occurred (I bet somebody
does) but probably in the mid/late 70s the rudder changed from a fixed,
3 point mount with no adjustment (because the rudder under-shot the
skeg) to one that didn't undershoot and rode a bronze rod up about a
foot.  

Sounds like you're referring to the rudder on a rod setup, but better
clarify.  I have an undershot rudder I might part with...   t

Does anyone have an Montgomery  17 old rudder that they would like to
sell. Does not need to be in great shape just fixable to use. I think
this boat had a rudder that slides straight up on a long stainless pin
and not the kick up type, I could be wrong.
