Thanks for the feedback, Tod, I appreciate it. I suppose in the making of
these boats, the pulpit is put on after the hull and deck are put together.
You bring up some good points to be careful about when attaching a pulpit. I
think I could always ask Bob Eeg about any suggestions he might have. I
didn't get your photos you mentioned, tho. Was there an attachment or url?

That would be one of the more straightforward projects, I would think.
I would position the pulpit on deck ( a helper to keep it in place might
be a good thing ), sight it from different angles to make sure it looked
like it was on straight, mark the holes on the deck, drill them, do the
seal-with-epoxy routine, and then bolt it down with caulk, using at
least fender washers if not a bona fide backing plate. What would
really be great is if the pulpit came with loose backing plates (extra
flanges like on the bottom of the pulpit).
After considering removing the pulpit on BuscaBrisas, I started noticing
how often it really was used. Here are a few ways I find myself using
it:
1. Mast support while trailering.
2. Place to hook a halyard when it isn't actually hooked to the head of
a sail.
3. Handle for moving the boat around at the dock.
