Subject: Re: M_Boats: Lead Keel- Long Rant

G.O.,

I liked your rant.
I have an even earlier M17, #92 circa 1976. Other than having the
pendant replaced, I have had no evidence of swelling trunk, stuck swing
keel, or associated problems. Also, I love the earlier M17's as well,
with the galley, deep port locker, toerail, and flush hatch. It took me
two years of looking in the midwest to find mine (back in 1996). The
one feature I do envy on the newer M17's is the wet locker. My rear
cockpit scupper drains slowly and the floor does get water on it with 4
adults aboard.
But, as the mantra goes, sail what you got, get out on the water.

Weather warming up in Minnesota......

Later,

Bones
