Bones, We self launch the 23 all the time as long as the ramp is fairly steep and concrete or paved with good traction. Wouldn't try it in the dirt. We have an 11 foot tongue extension that allows us to get her back into the water without drowning the tow vehicle. Not sure about the other 23's. We'd be game for either lake. Just the idea of getting together with a bunch of other Monty crews is enough to draw us in! What time of year are we talking about? Sean
