Sean,
After sandblasting your centerboard I believe you painted it with Interlux 
2000E (a barrier coat) within an hour or so of sandblasting.  If I 
understand correctly, you did not have to use a rust converter or primer on 
the bare metal before the first coat of 2000E is that correct?
