I always wondered why the name "Twinger" was used for the downhaul on the
spinnaker lines.

Do you know where the names, twinger and barberhauler came from?

Thanks

BAAH BAAH Barber haul - hauls a sheet inboard or outboard - athwartship.
"Pinch -In, Reach -Out"

(to be a stickler or any other equivalent for smart aleck) a 'Twing'
directs
the lead downward toward the deck.) Stupid little differences that drive
some nutz.

Guess whO

sad to see this tendency toward unidentified lurkers - it is a sad
commentary on the times.

See above for "sad commentary"
