Hi all,

I've had my M-17 on the hard for about 2 weeks now. I had the pox so I did
the 4 coats of epoxy (interlux) on the entire hull and the keel and trunk
are fine.
I decided, since I could, to pull the centerboard, get it blasted and coat
it with epoxy (only 3 coats) and 2 coats of bottom paint.

Now the board will not go back in.

Here's the interesting part: It looks like it has a warp in it. The
starboard side is concave and the port side convex...minutely. (I did not
look at it closely when I removed it) I did not think that cast could bend,
and I hung the board the whole time I was painting it, not leaning or on
it's side. It did not even rub coming out.

The pin end went in fine, but the tang end will not go in at all. I'm going
to sand my painting work off a layer at a time to see if that will work.

My question is: Have you ever heard of cast iron warping? Has this ever
happened to anyone before?

Thanks,

Michael Ray

M17 383 Meg (my daughter has renamed it the "Molly M."
